Life gets busy.
Our minds work hard every single day.
When your brain gets tired, taking a rest can feel hard. You might feel restless or overwhelmed.
Resting does not mean you are lazy. Resting is how you recharge your body and mind.
1. Rest Your Eyes and Mind
You do not always have to sleep to give your brain a break.
Look away from screens. Turn off your phone and TV for just 15 minutes.
Try a soft focus. Sit quietly and look out a window. Let your eyes relax on something calm, like trees or the sky.
Listen to soft sounds. Put on gentle music, rain sounds, or a slow podcast.
2. Rest Your Body
When you are stressed, your muscles get tight without you knowing it.
Unclench your jaw. Let your teeth separate and relax your face.
Drop your shoulders. Move your shoulders down, away from your ears.
Take three slow breaths. Breathe in slowly through your nose, hold it for a second, and blow it out slowly.
3. Give Yourself Permission
The hardest part of resting is feeling like you should be doing work.
Remind yourself: "It is okay to pause."
Do one small thing at a time. You do not need to finish everything today.
Be kind to yourself. You are doing your best.
A Quick Reminder for Today
You do not have to earn your rest.
Resting is a basic need, just like water and food.
Take a deep breath right now. Drop your shoulders, relax your hands, and give yourself a few minutes to just be.
